When facing the start to another year many things run through my mind. What did I accomplish? What do I regret? What were the highlights? What does this new year have in store for me? What do I want or NEED to change? I can answer these questions for you readers (if you don't already know) just so you know a little bit about where I'm coming from and where I'm going.
1. What did I accomplish? I graduated from nursing school. BIG deal and one of my greatest accomplishments to date.
2. What do I regret? Two main things: weight gain and neglect of my spiritual life. Serious fails.
3. What were the highlights? Surviving the extreme stress of management clinical and Medical-Surgical Nursing class. An amazing (free) vacation at Panama City Beach, FL - thanks Mom and Dad. Getting an intern position in surgery. Graduation, of course! Getting my first nursing job in surgery! (As you can see, school has been my life this year).
4. What does this new year have in store for me? Priority #1 = finding a place to worship God. Priority #2 = moving out of my parents house! I will officially be starting above said job. I am going to a new Bible study called Gracestoration, which I'm excited about! I'll be taking my state boards for my RN license. I'll be going back to school to further my education. Yes, this year will be an exciting and busy year.
5. What do I want or NEED to change? Ah, this is the question evoked by every year end. The first things I obviously want to change are to spiritually get back on track and to lose weight!
6. The reason I'm blogging about this? For accountability. Whether I know you or not, I'm more likely to actually stick to this weight loss thing if I'm held accountable. I have a LOT of weight to lose. A LOT. If I lose it at a healthy rate (2 lbs a week) then I could lose 104 lbs this year. And I need to lose even more than that. I won't have Bob and Jillian (from Biggest Loser) screaming in my face to motivate me so I need YOUR help! Hold me accountable, people. Encourage me. Cheer me on!
